Tomorrow night promises to be a groundbreaking and truly rocking good time in Denver when Michal Menert (PLM) brings his massive 22-piece live band concept to The Fillmore Auditorium. This show definitely is a big one for Menert, who has carved his own niche in the Colorado music scene with his eclectic sampling style and bass-heavy production. However, tomorrow he takes his live show to the next level by bringing a larger than life live ensemble to re-create his tracks in what is sure to be a memorable performance. Menert will be supported by fan favorites Orchard Lounge and Exmag, so all in attendance will be blessed with a ton of livetronica performances to get the night popping. Although Menert tours extensively, tomorrow’s performance marks only the second time he has played with a live band in tow, so get your tickets now unless you want to haggle with some Colfax Creatures for a ticket!

Pretty Lights at Red Rocks 2013 Recap

Over a week after Sweaty snagged some tickets for PL’s Red Rocks show, it is still all we can think about and overall one of the best electronic/live shows we’ve ever seen for so many reasons. Besides Laser Shark taking it to the next level, the new 5 platform, light-encased stage set up showcased his killer live band. These guys rocked out on stage accompanied by Derek himself, slappin’ the bass for the majority of the night. Another surprising highlight- PL transformed many of his previous songs into bass bumpin’ live versions. If you haven’t gotten tickets to catch him on his upcoming fall tour, we strongly suggest it. Take a look at some of our videos and images to see for yourself.

Pretty Lights – A Color Map of the Sun (Review)

I’ve had some time to digest Pretty Lights’ latest work “A Color Map of the Sun” and each time I listen to it, it just seems to get better and better. The production behind this album is insane, and PL’s unique method of creating this album shines through in every track. One thing that jumps out to you is how different this album sounds compared to his previous works. Each song is filled with deep, eerie vocals and the live instrumentation really makes each song pop. I’ve included some of my favorite tracks off the album that showcase how different each track is, but do yourself a favor and download the entire thing for free!

I’ve been itching for this collab between Pretty Lights Music labelmates Michal Menert and Break Science and the day is finally here. This album brings out the best of Break Science’s beat builds and Michal Menert’s incredible sampling. Big ups to TSIS for the hook up.
