Review – Break Science @ The Ogden

If you know anyone who was at the Ogden Theater last night, you probably heard about the incredible performance Break Science put on for the Colorado crowd. The PLM members had more than a few tricks up their sleeves, including a full-live setup featuring an impromptu superjam of sorts with several of the members of the funk band Lettuce.

The Shady Horns and Eric Krasno enhanced Break Science’s already insane set by adding incredible play on the saxophone, trumpet, and electric guitar. An added cherry on top was the Denver debut of Manic Science, where the Break Science fellas brought out Manic Focus to drop some glitch hop bangers.

Overall, an unbelievable night filled with some of Break Science’s old and new jams showcasing their electro-soul production style. Bummer you couldn’t be there right? Don’t worry, Break Science is coming to a city near you so be sure to check them out! Still want more? Break Science just dropped a new mixtape so be sure to give it a listen!

Review – Bass Physics at The Fox Theater

This past Saturday the Sweaty team finally got to check out a group that we’ve been super pumped to see live, Bass Physics. The duo, comprised of A.P. Adair and Luke Sims, have been one of the most exciting new sounds out of Colorado and after seeing them perform live at Boulder’s Fox Theater we can see why they are generating so much buzz.

Their set was an excellent showcase of their unique sounds and overall take on what a live EDM performance looks and feels like. The two seamlessly mixed countless genres and tracks together to create a performance that moved fans up, down, and everywhere in between. Arguably the most intriguing part of their set was the incorporation of live instruments, including A.P. shredding the guitar and keyboards. It was awesome to see the organic addition of live instrumentation to bring their set to the next level and help separate them from some of the other movers and shakers in the EDM scene.

After making a splash last year, this performance proves that Bass Physics is poised to make so serious moves in 2014. Make sure to check their tour page and catch B.P. next time they roll through your town!
